BASIL SODA
It is if you want to work from 9 to 6 sometimes extra hours, travel a lot, work late, feel exhausted all the time..loool ok i sound depressing but i do love it despite all of that! I have been working for 8 months now with a Lebanese fashion Designer called Basil Soda.
Many of you might not have heard of him as he is very different from other lebanese designers and low profile.
His work tends to be more special because of it's unique designs and cut.It's very feminine and gives an identity of a strong and powerful women.
It has always been a passion for me and something that i wanted to accomplish.
I never found anything to be difficult because i was eager to prove myself and loved my work.
I was in charge of organizing fashion shows, dealing with the press, media and PR, I also was the liasion between the designer and the buyers while selling the pret a porter line to stores and boutiques.
the funny part is that when i tell seomeone i work in fashion they get so excited as if i was working for celebrity! they think it's the most easy and beautiful thing! i used to feel that way too but it's a job like any other one and it's serious!
One day we were recruiting and there is this 38year old lady calling me to apply, she was like :
-Hello is this basil soda?
-euh no...how can i help you?
-I read in the newspaper that you have a position to fill and i would like to recommend myself.
-euhhh can you please send your CV to our email?
-I don't have a CV i just want to tell the designer that i come from a very good family i travel a lot i have 3 kids i love fashion, i buy a lot of clothes, im very stylish and my folks have a clothing store so i know all about this but i have never worked in my life!
-HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHA (i wanted to hang up on her). instead i said : excuse me this is a job you need to have a professional CV and your background and lifestyle is NOT my problem!!!!!!!!
What do people think sometimes? i mean seriously?!!!!! Fashion is my Passion???!!! hahahahhaha
